Naoaki Fujii

About Naoaki Fujii

I was born in March 1964 in Tokyo, Japan. I am not a professional musician but a medical chemist at a Japanese pharmaceutical company. I'm a self-studied guitarist, pianist, and started playing at age 15. I love jazz music and have an interest in chord progression especially, so I'm always trying to compose using a various chord progression patterns. I think Thelonious Monk is one of the greatest composers. His tunes have unique chord progression pattern but they are relaxed and unaffected. So, when any jazzman plays his tune, we can feel Monk's feeling there. It is my ideal as a composer.

I am interested in having people check out the tunes, play them, criticize them, etc. Any feedback would be welcomed.

Naoaki's e-mail address is: positive@osk2.3web.ne.jp.

Iroak Medium tempo swing. This title is the reversed spelling of my wife's name, "Kaori".

Sparkring of Genius Swing. It has a unique chord progression and tritone-based simple melody line. I couldn't decide the tonality, although I wrote it as Bb major.
