Love Lament (c) James Marshall
OK, these are kind of depressing because I wrote them when I was in a rather
sad mood. However, I did specifically try to make the third chorus have a
sense of hope to it. If you don't care for them, don't sing them! :)
Leaving out the lyrics and just playing it as a slow blues is probably
better if you're not already in a sad mood.
Chorus 1:
Each time I find a girl
That I'm attracted to.
It turns out that she doesn't love me.
Sometimes I try to win her heart.
But never with sucess.
And I hope that I'll find another.
I hope that soon my luck will change
And I'll find my true love,
But just how long must I wait.
Until I find the lover
That I've been dreaming of
And all my blues go away.
Chorus 2:
I won't ask for much
From the one I'll love.
Only that she be there for me.
To hold my hand when night time falls
And then hold me in her arms
And she'll say that she'll love me always.
A single kiss from her sweet lips
Would thrill me through and through.
Oh, how I long for that day.
The day I find my true love,
The one I'll love fore'er.
She'll take my blues away.
Chorus 3:
So I must keep looking
Until I find my love.
I hope that I'll find her someday.
'Cause when I do what joy I'll know,
Now that her love's mine alone.
I'll never be lonely again.
I'll gaze deeply into her eyes
And kiss her tender lips
Then I'll know she's the one.
The woman of my dreams,
My lady love divine.
I'll love her all my life.
Possible Endings: (using the repeats as described in playing tips)
But until I find her. I'll love her 'till I die.
I'll always have the blues. And never let her go.
She's my joy fore'er. She'll take my blues away.
No more I'll have the blues. I'll be happy again.
I'm sure you can think up others that will fit the song and your own mood,
so use whatever you like as an ending. I usually make it up when I play it
anyway. ;)
