This Java Jukebox uses Java 1.2 to play MIDI as well as 16-bit 44.1 kHz audio files of various types. It's written in JDK 1.0, so it will look ok in any browser, but you need Java 1.2 to be able to render the MIDI files or play audio files other than 8-bit 8 kHz u-law Sun .au format.
