Adam Whiteman and I used to be neighbors in Madison, and we've been close friends ever since. We did a lot of composing and recording in the basement, most of which is probably too torturous to put on public view here. However, we did record a few things that we're proud of and got a good response.
Iberian Trance is probably the best thing we've done together. It started as a simple drum drone, which we did by hooking a cheap MIDI drum pad up to my Roland Sound Canvas synth. The accompaniment is sequenced, and Adam (piano) and I (guitar) played together live while our wives played with my daughter (who wasn't quite 3 at the time) in the basement. You can hear her shout "daddy!" at one point, and I credited her with "incidental vocals" on the tune on the tape I made.
Conservation of Love is a tune that Adam entirely wrote, which I just added a guitar track to. I put it here because it has funny lyrics written along the lines of physics principles.
